The Ohio English Language Proficiency Screener (OELPS) testing window opened this morning, Monday, Aug. 23, <\/strong>to assist schools in identifying English learners during the 2021-2022 school year.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before testing, districts must add all students taking the OELPS to the\u00a0Test Information Distribution Engine<\/a>\u00a0(TIDE).\u00a0The TIDE system opened on Aug. 5 for the 2021-2022 school year.\u00a0Refer to the\u00a0TIDE <\/em><\/a>User<\/a><\/em> Guide<\/em><\/a>\u00a0for more information.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following OELPS resources are available on the Ohio\u2019s English Language Proficiency Assessments portal<\/a>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paper orders. <\/strong>If a district or school has students who require a paper accommodation for the screener (including Braille and Large Print), please contact the Office of Assessment at statetests@education.ohio.gov<\/a>. Once paper or accommodated OELPS orders are approved, please indicate in TIDE any student taking a paper, Braille or Large Print screener with an OELPS mode of \u201cP\u201d for paper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
