request includes changes related to Title III funding requirements and accountability systems connected to multilingual learners and English learner programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Ohio TESOL believes educators and stakeholders should understand how these proposed changes may affect local districts, instructional supports, staffing, family engagement, and services for multilingual learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Ohio TESOL is concerned that portions of the proposed waiver could reduce important protections, accountability measures, and targeted supports for multilingual learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Guidance-Template-ESEA\" style=\"font-size:20px\">New Resource: Ohio TESOL Guidance Template for Public Comment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Ohio TESOL has developed a guidance template to assist individuals in preparing comments related to the proposed ESEA Waiver Request and ESSA amendments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Public comments provide educators and stakeholders an opportunity to share how these proposed changes may impact multilingual learners in their schools and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Ohio TESOL has developed the following resources to support informed advocacy and participation in the public
