Ohio TESOL is excited to announce its 5th Annual Virtual Graduate Symposium, which will be held online May 10, 2025.The Graduate Student Research Symposium is an excellent opportunity for graduate students to present their completed or ongoing research projects to professionals and academics across Ohio and beyond. It provides a platform for them to receive valuable feedback, network with experts in the field, and gain recognition for their research.
The proposals are encouraged within the following categories: culminating/capstone projects for those within endorsement and licensing programs; master thesis; doctoral dissertations; action/participatory research projects.All proposals must represent authentic quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, or action research. To apply, all candidates must be preparing for or already have defended within the 2023-2026 academic years. The candidates’ research presented by the candidates must involve one of the following:
- ESL classroom-based capstone or culminating project must consist of research done in an Ohio-based PK12 ESL classroom by a post-baccalaureate endorsement or licensure.
- Partial fulfillment of Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in the fields of TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or closely related field focused on multilingual English learners.

This year, recordings of the participants’ presentations will be shared with Ohio TESOL, an an outstanding contribution will be rewarded with an invite to present at the Ohio TESOL conference in Fall.
