Please see the following message from the Ohio Department of Education:
The Ohio English Language Proficiency Screener (OELPS) testing window opened this morning, Monday, Aug. 23, to assist schools in identifying English learners during the 2021-2022 school year.
Before testing, districts must add all students taking the OELPS to the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE). The TIDE system opened on Aug. 5 for the 2021-2022 school year. Refer to the TIDE User Guide for more information.
The following OELPS resources are available on the Ohio’s English Language Proficiency Assessments portal:
· OELPS Test Administration Manual (TAM)
· Data Entry Interface (DEI) User Guide
· OELPS Teacher Hand Scoring System (THSS) User Guide
· 2021-2022 Screener Centralized Reporting System (CRS) Quick Guide

Paper orders. If a district or school has students who require a paper accommodation for the screener (including Braille and Large Print), please contact the Office of Assessment at statetests@education.ohio.gov. Once paper or accommodated OELPS orders are approved, please indicate in TIDE any student taking a paper, Braille or Large Print screener with an OELPS mode of “P” for paper.
