The Board of Ohio TESOL has been closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as the State of Ohio and Local government regarding Covid-19. The Health and safety of our members is paramount in these times, therefore it is in the best interest of everyone that we cancel this year’s Ohio TESOL conference scheduled for October 2020 at the Columbus Convention Center.
While we will not be meeting in person this year, we are actively looking for ways to support our members, and provide opportunities for everyone to stay connected. Next week, we will be sharing a survey to see what alternatives we can offer in lieu of our usual face-to-face conference. Please take a few moments to share your suggestions, needs, and ideas so that we can continue to support you.
We know this will be a temporary interruption, and it is very different from how we normally operate. In the meantime, we will continue to think outside of the box for ways to support the EL staff of Ohio in their mission to educate our English Learners. We hope this finds you, your families, and your students well.
